Friends in Taize


We got to know some wonderful people during our time in Taize. On our first day, we met another clergy family from the US who were on Sabbatical. Above, Julie and I pose for our children to take pictures for posterity. Below, our boys and their youngest, Lizzie got along swimmingly:

At one point, I tried to teach our small group how to do Cloud Hands. You can see the adults were working hard to learn, and the children were taking the idea and running with it:


Here's a picture of our small group. From left to right, John and Angela from South Africa; me and Shawn; Jeff from New Jersey; Salvador from Spain; Julie from New Jersey. Our boys and Jeff and Julie's daughter were quick friends, and John and Angela and Jeff and Julie both had older boys that got along great so we ended up spending a lot of our time together besides the prescribed small group sessions.
