We found out we love Lyon! We were scheduled to stay there once on our trip, but ended up enjoying it so much we found a way to visit on three occasions. Every time we stayed at the Hotel Residence (above), just a short walk down a (mostly) pedestrian boulevard to the Place Bellecour (below).

Place Bellecour is a wonderful gathering area with a sculpture you're encouraged to climb. (In fact, they have created an entire website just for photos of people interacting with the sculpture.)

We simply loved the wonderful playground in Place Bellecour. Playgrounds are very rare in France, and we'd really been missing them. This one was in good condition, had ample seating for the parents, and was a great gathering place. One side of the playground was flanked by a Prairie Flower Garden which was beautiful:

Because we kept coming back to Lyon, we had time to get to the Museum of Miniatures and Movies. C3PO welcomes you into the museum and, being Star Wars fans, we thought that was pretty cool. We had time to visit this museum while we were waiting for a cycle shop to pack up Shawn's bike to be mailed home.

When we could manage it, we visited the playground multiple times each day. The kids couldn't get enough!
