While we were in the Alps, I wanted to get up to the top of a mountain. We drove up to a small town where a couple of different gondolas went up and up and up. I really wanted to go on the longest one which took 3 separate gondolas and over an hour of riding to get up to a glacier near the top of a peak. However, there was thick cloud cover for most of that altitude so we went on a shorter ride and still got up much higher than we'd driven.
It was a pretty nice view:
At the end of the gondola ride, this little restaurant was open so we had lunch there. We were the only customers, although it looks like it would be a lot busier in ski season.
There was a little lake nearby which Shawn was interested in exploring. However, the boys and I were really cold up that high so we convinced him to take a photo and get down to a lower and warmer altitude.

Here we are riding the Gondola and trying to keep warm.
